Fay-Penn Economic Development Council approved loans totaling more than $150,000 that will retain and create new jobs at its quarterly board meeting Friday at the Holiday Inn. A change from Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority necessitated the Swainsboro City Council to submit a new grant/loan application for funding to construct a new half-million gallon water tank in the city while refurbishing three older tanks. €130m European Council loan for Mater Dei hospital
The government’s debt with the European Council for the construction of Mater Dei hospital is over €129 million. In 1994 and 1997 the government asked the European Council for a €11.5 million loan. This loan was to be paid by 2007.
